Charitable donations

Mount Carmel faces the same financial issues as most third sector organisations: after years of break-even based on revenues that predominantly came from Local Authorities, we now have falling revenues resulting from the public spending cuts.

We therefore seek charitable donations to support our income and allow us to continue in helping men and women suffering from addiction to alcohol.

Mount Carmel Hostel for Recovering Alcoholics Limited is registered under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Society Act 2014 (and previously under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965). We are registered with the Financial Conduct Authority.

We are a not-for-profit organisation, operating for the benefit of the community.  HMRC has given Mount Carmel charity status for tax purposes (HMRC ref XR69487).

How to send Donations

Donations to specific activities or Mount Carmel in general can be made by either:

  • going to our MyDonate page on the internet, or
  • writing a cheque made out to Mount Carmel.  If you pay tax, please download, complete, and enclose our Gift Aid Form with the cheque, which enables us to claim a further 25p for every pound donated.  Then please post to:
